Hello World!

Well I finally did it, this is my first blog post so I guess I'll start with a quick biography.

I grew up in Berwyn Illinois and went to College at The University of Wisconsin Platteville. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies which I think gives me a unique perspective on Technology and Business Intelligence. I have been working with Business Intelligence Technologies since 1999 when I started writing EZ-Trieve reports for BCBS of Wisconsin. Since then I've grown and developed on a variety of platforms including SQL Server, Business Objects and Qlikview. I am now a Business Intelligence Architect with CoreBTS where I am developing BI solutions for a variety of clients.

I like to think that I take a unique approach to Business Intelligence because of my background. My formal education was focused on History, Sociology, Teaching and Theater and I look at Business Intelligence and an exercise in communication. Every Business System is at it's core a way to communicate, be it email or ERP the idea that data should engage people to action should be central to the way we use and implement systems.

I'll be posting periodically with thoughts and anecdotes about what I'm doing so please follow and comment. Hopefully I can contribute something positive to the discussion.

Thanks

Chris
